Mayo Aviation is hiring for a skilled, charismatic Pilot in Command!
The Pilot in Command (PIC) reports to the Chief Pilot. The PIC follows company policies and procedures while maintaining availability to conduct charter flights as assigned by the Chief Pilot and Flight Operations. The PIC works with the Second in Command to safely conduct all flights and ensure the comfort of the passengers.
This position includes the responsibilities of maintaining the monthly schedule for all pilots available for duty on the assigned aircraft. This will include regular contact with company management and Flight Operations to ensure maximum availability and flexibility for all requested flight operations.

Essential Job Fuctions:

Duties assigned by the Chief Pilot
-
Maintains knowledge of all applicable FAA regulations, Company Flight Operations Manual, Operation Specifications, LOA’s, Flight Manuals, etc.

Completes planning relevant to the assigned flight, including weather, routing, aircraft performance and NOTAMS as applicable to the safe conduct of the flight

Follows standard procedures during all phases of flight in accordance with company procedures

Monitors all instrumentation and aircraft systems and assigns cockpit duties as required

Operates the navigational and communications radios as required

Monitors the progress of the flight and uses good Crew Resource Management with the Second in Command to ensure the execution of a safe flight

Is alert for abnormal situations and departures from normal procedures or neglect of any required actions

Assumes control of the aircraft when necessary to avoid a hazardous situation caused by Second in Command inattention or incapacitation

Ensures that manuals, charts, catering, and other customer specific special items are onboard the aircraft and that the aircraft is clean

Actively participate in the companies Safety Management System and be instrumental with corrective action plans and preventative measures

Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and organizational standards

Identify deficiencies, develop, implement, and verify preventive and corrective measures
Job Requirements
A full Covid 19 Vaccination, or willingness to obtain one, is required to be eligible for this position.
Job Qualifications

Working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations
-
Ability to be at the airport of departure within 60 minutes for Charter flight assignments.

First Class Medical Certificate
Education or Formal Training
Knowledge and Other Requirements
-
2500 hours total fixed-wing flight time
-
250 hours multi-engine fixed-wing flight time
-
Pilatus PC-12 experience preferred
-
100 hours Turbine experience
Working Environment/Physical Activities
-
Areas of moving mechanical parts, equipment, and various chemicals.
-
Occasional exposure to loud noises and loud aircraft engines which at times require hearing protection.

Occasional periods of lifting, pushing, or pulling over 50 pounds
