The Opportunity & Benefits

This outstanding opportunity offers a stable 5-year contract, with potential extensions up to age 65. Air Japan provides a comprehensive B787 type rating course at no cost, leading to the acquisition of a highly coveted JCAB license. No bond is required for this valuable qualification.

A highly competitive commuting package is provided, featuring up to 14 days off per month, typically in a block of at least 8 consecutive days. A monthly stipend of $2,000 USD is offered to assist with commuting to Tokyo. Further enhancing the package, pilots receive staff travel benefits on Star Alliance partner airlines and comprehensive worldwide medical insurance, including full US health insurance for US citizens. All amounts specified are in US Dollars.

In addition to an attractive remuneration package, Air Japan offers 24 vacation days and 12 sick leave days annually. A significant contract completion bonus of $30,000 USD is awarded after five years of service. Revised salary structures for 2026 have also been announced.

Captain Requirements

For Non-JCAB Licence Holders:

  • Total Flight Experience: 6,000 hours
  • Commercial Jet Pilot in Command (PIC) Experience: 4,500 hours
  • Multi-engine Jet Experience: Aircraft with a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) exceeding 65,000kg
  • Licence: Valid ICAO ATPL with a Command Jet Type Rating (aircraft types B737/A320 equivalent or larger commercial jet)
  • Recency: Must have flown within the last 12 months
  • Age: Under 55 years of age at the time of commencement
  • Medical Certificate: Valid ICAO Medical Certificate
  • English Proficiency: ICAO English Level 5 or higher

For JCAB Licence Holders:

  • Licence: Valid JCAB ATPL with a Command Jet Type Rating
  • Total Flight Experience: 6,000 hours
  • Commercial Jet Pilot in Command (PIC) Experience: 3,000 hours
  • Japanese Airline Jet PIC Experience: Minimum of 500 hours
  • Multi-engine Jet Experience: Aircraft with a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) exceeding 50,000kg
  • Medical Certificate: Valid ICAO Medical Certificate
  • English Proficiency: ICAO English Level 5 or higher
