This command position offers successful candidates the opportunity to operate within an extensive and expanding network of domestic and international routes across Asia.

Jetstar Japan currently manages a modern fleet comprising 24 Airbus A320 aircraft, with additional units on firm order, demonstrating a strong commitment to future growth. The airline successfully executes over 100 flights daily, serving 24 crucial routes connecting 14 popular destinations.

Candidate Profile and Licensing Preferences

This exceptional opportunity is available to both A320 type-rated and non-type-rated professional pilots. Applications are welcomed from pilots with or without a Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) license.

  • Applicants currently holding a JCAB license are strongly preferred, irrespective of whether they possess an A320 type rating.
  • Non-JCAB license holders are highly competitive if they possess an existing Airbus A320 type rating, though non-type-rated pilots are still encouraged to submit their application.

Essential Requirements for A320 Captains

Prospective Captains must meet the following minimum flight experience criteria:

  1. A minimum of 4,000 hours of total flight time.
  2. A minimum of 3,000 hours flown on jet aircraft.
  3. A minimum of 1,000 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time on jet aircraft.
  4. A minimum of 500 hours of PIC time on Airbus fly-by-wire aircraft (A320 family experience preferred).
  5. Possession of a valid First Class Medical Certificate.
  6. Demonstration of ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or higher.

Remuneration and Contract Details

Jetstar Japan offers a highly competitive remuneration package reflecting the senior status of this role. The initial contract duration is three (3) years and is renewable upon mutual agreement.
