The Opportunity: Air Weapons Systems Instructor
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Air Weapons Systems Instructor to join its dedicated team. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive expertise as a CF-18 weapons specialist to provide critical aircraft maintenance instruction. This pivotal role involves delivering specialized entry-level maintenance courses, encompassing both practical and theoretical training, to equip students with comprehensive knowledge of all CF-18 maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivers comprehensive theoretical and practical classroom instruction on aircraft operating principles.
- Participates actively in hands-on training sessions for students.
- Ensures strict compliance with all regulations pertaining to tooling control and aircraft documentation, including the accurate completion of inspection sheets, forms, and logs.
- Adheres rigorously to established health, safety, and flight safety protocols, as well as all administrative and technical regulations, work instructions, and process specifications.
- Consults and utilizes essential reference documentation, such as training programs and work processes, and contributes to the continuous update of training materials.
- Attends and engages in mandatory training and information sessions to maintain up-to-date knowledge.
- Executes tasks as directed by the Lead Instructor, Team Leader, or Supervisor.
- Provides specialized training and mentorship in CF-18 maintenance across critical areas including:
- Aircraft Maintenance Support Equipment (AMSE)
- Suspension and Release Equipment
- Weapon Systems and Guns
Required Qualifications
- Education: College or high school diploma, or equivalent certification.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in CF-18 aircraft maintenance.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Thorough proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and the Windows operating environment.
- Familiarity with SAP systems.
- Core Competencies:
- Exceptional adaptability and strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and effectively prioritize workload.
- Language: Required bilingualism (French and English) with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages, essential for contractual requirements.
- Desired Asset: Prior experience in quality control or a related field.
Mandatory Eligibility Requirements
- Eligibility for registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2 / NATO Secret security clearance.
- Must meet the eligibility requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
