Job Summary
L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Experimental Test Pilot (L) for a full-time position based at their Tulsa, Oklahoma facility. This role involves participating in all facets of operating special mission sensor aircraft, including experimental flight testing and operational support flights for Department of War programs. The position requires extensive flight planning and collaboration within a pilot team, with significant travel expected globally, including potential deployments of 30 days or more.
About the Role
The Experimental Test Pilot (L) will serve as a Co-Captain on unique G550 special mission sensor aircraft operated by Aeromet. Responsibilities include conducting experimental and engineering test flights, adhering strictly to FAA regulations and DCMA 8210 D requirements, and maintaining professional conduct. The role demands flexibility in work schedules, including on-call status with a two-hour recall, and worldwide travel to meet mission demands. A Department of War TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory, and US Citizenship is required.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience, OR a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.

Graduate of Armed Forces Test Pilot School (Full Course).

Airline Transport Pilot Certification.

1,500 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time, including 100 hours as PIC during engineering and/or acceptance flights under the functional flight category.

Valid First-Class FAA medical certificate.

Ability to obtain a Department of War TS/SCI security clearance.

US Citizenship.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
Preferred Additional Skills

C-37/G550 or similar type Flight Test Experience.

Pilot Examiner (PE) and Flight Engineer (FE) qualifications.

Multi-engine jet FAA type rating (or Military Equivalent).

A clean aviation accident and FAA violation record.

No history of suspended or revoked pilot designations or ratings.

Proficiency in MS-Office Suite (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, and Outlook).
