Lead, Pilot (Gulfstream 550 Pilot in Command – PIC)

Position Summary:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Lead Pilot to serve as a Gulfstream 550 Pilot in Command (PIC). This individual will be an integral member of a professional flight crew and maintenance team, contributing to operational, training, and safety management objectives. As an initial cadre member, the Lead Pilot will play a critical role in establishing Gulfstream 550 flight operations and assisting in the training of existing organizational pilots on the G550 aircraft. The position requires adherence to all scheduling, coordinating, training, certification, and qualification requirements, as well as strict compliance with crew flight and duty time limitations and standard operating procedures. The Lead Pilot will work closely with the customer to maintain a strong safety culture and implement efficient procedures that ensure outstanding customer service. This role includes on-call responsibilities and occasional short-notice travel.

Key Requirements & Conditions:

• Relocation is required to a location providing a 1-hour response time to Richmond, VA International Airport.
• Employment is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
• Eventual type qualification in the Boeing 757 aircraft will be required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform duties as Pilot in Command (PIC) of the Gulfstream 550 aircraft.
• Serve as an initial cadre member for standing up G550 flight operations.
• Assist in training existing organizational pilots on the Gulfstream 550.
• Ensure compliance with all scheduling, coordination, training, certification, and qualification requirements.
• Adhere strictly to crew flight and duty time limitations and standard operating procedures.
• Work closely with the customer to uphold a strong culture of safety.
• Implement and maintain efficient procedures to support outstanding customer service.
• Be available for on-call duties and occasional short-notice travel.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant prior experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an airport clearance/security badge (FAA).
• Possession and maintenance of a Class II FAA Flight Physical (First Class required if age 65 or older), with medical readiness for worldwide travel.
• Current U.S. passport.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
• Experience in aircraft with a Maximum Takeoff Gross Weight (MTGW) of 74,000 lbs or greater.
• Minimum of 3,000 total flight hours.
• Minimum of 1,500 Pilot in Command (PIC) flight hours.
• Minimum of 1,500 multi-engine turbine hours.
• Minimum of 1,000 hours specifically in the Gulfstream 550 (G550).
• Demonstrated high level of skill, tact, and strong interpersonal communication abilities.
• Experience with daily interface with customers at various levels.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing the English language.
• Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 – 75 pounds above the head.

When evaluating the flight time of applicants meeting the basic qualifications, consideration will be given to factors including quality, quantity, recent experience, and verifiability of training; complexity of aircraft flown; types of flight operations; and hours flown as PIC in turbine-powered aircraft. Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and/or Military Instructor Pilot experience is highly desired.
• Current worldwide international flight experience.
• Experience in other transport category aircraft, particularly Boeing 737, 757, or 767, is highly desired.
