Lead Pilot (Gulfstream 550 Pilot in Command - PIC)

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Pilot (Gulfstream 550 Pilot in Command - PIC) to join its dynamic team. This pivotal role is located in Richmond, VA. The Lead Pilot will serve as a crucial member of a select team of professional flight crews and maintenance personnel, ensuring that all operations, training, and safety management objectives are consistently met.

The Lead Pilot will be instrumental in establishing Gulfstream 550 flight operations and assisting in the training of current organization pilots in the G550. He adheres to stringent scheduling, coordination, training, certification, and qualification standards. Compliance with crew flight and duty time limitations and standard operating procedures is mandatory. He works closely with the customer to foster a strong safety culture and maintain efficient procedures that promote outstanding customer service. The position requires on-call availability and the potential for occasional short-notice travel.

A successful candidate must relocate within a 1-hour response time to Richmond, VA International Airport. Employment is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance. Eventual type qualification in the Boeing 757 will also be required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform as Pilot in Command (PIC) of a Gulfstream 550.
• Participate in establishing Gulfstream 550 flight operations.
• Train current organization pilots in the G550.
• Adhere to all scheduling, coordinating, training, certification, and qualification requirements.
• Comply with crew flight and duty time limitations and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a strong culture of safety with efficient procedures.
• Provide outstanding customer service through close coordination with the customer.
• Fulfill on-call responsibilities and accommodate occasional short-notice travel.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain an airport clearance/security badge (FAA).
• Must have and maintain a Class II FAA Flight Physical (First Class if age 65 or older) and medically able to travel worldwide.
• Current U.S. passport.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• ATP certification with experience in aircraft with MTGW of 74,000 lbs or greater.
• 3,000 total flight hours.
• 1,500 Pilot in Command (PIC) flight hours.
• 1,500 multi-engine turbine hours.
• 1,000 hours specifically in the G550.
• High degree of skill, tact, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with daily interface with customers at numerous levels.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English fluently.
• Ability to lift and maneuver 50 – 75 pounds above the head.

Preferred Skills:

• CFI and/or Military instructor pilot experience is highly desired.
• Current worldwide international experience.
• Experience with other transport category aircraft, specifically Boeing 737, 757, and 767 is highly desired.
