Jet2.com Future Second Officer Program

Jet2.com is seeking highly motivated individuals to join their Future Second Officer program, formerly known as the Pilot Apprentice scheme. This program offers a remarkable opportunity for aspiring pilots to launch their commercial aviation careers within a rapidly expanding, customer-focused airline.

The 20-week development scheme provides comprehensive training and practical experience, preparing successful candidates for a Second Officer role on either the Boeing or Airbus fleet. Positions are available at various UK bases. Jet2.com encourages applications from current and prospective fATPL holders who meet the specified eligibility criteria.

Participants will gain invaluable insights into the operations of a multi-award-winning airline. The program includes time at the Leeds commercial and operational headquarters, shadowing experienced personnel, as well as training and operating as Cabin Crew.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • Valid UK Part-FCL issued Pilot’s Licence.
  • Valid UK issued Class 1 Medical with a minimum of 6 months validity upon joining.
  • Completion of an APS MCC course, or an individual Jet Orientation Course (JOC) & Multi Crew Co-operation course (MCC).
  • Advanced UPRT completion certificate.
  • Demonstrated strong ATPL results and training record.
  • Successful completion of a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME-IR).
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK.
  • Maintenance of flying currency through training and/or regular flying.

Upon successful completion of the 20-week program, participants will undergo a fully bonded type-rating, after which they will be appointed as Second Officers within the Jet2.com fleet.

Application Process:

Applications are welcome from individuals who currently meet the requirements or expect to fulfill them within 2 calendar months of application. Jet2.com offers start dates throughout the year, and successful applicants will join the next available intake.

The selection process involves:

  • Online psychometric and ability assessments, and a short video interview.
  • Further assessments, which may include a remote interview, followed by an in-person assessment center and simulator exercise.
