Jet2.com Future Second Officer Programme

Jet2.com invites applications for its Future Second Officer Programme, formerly known as the Pilot Apprentice scheme. This exceptional opportunity is open to both current and prospective holders of a Frozen ATPL (fATPL), with completion anticipated within two months of application. The programme offers a unique pathway to a Second Officer position within a rapidly expanding airline operating both Boeing and Airbus aircraft, eliminating the financial burden of type rating costs.

Programme Overview:

Aspiring aviators seeking their first commercial jet role are encouraged to apply. The 20-week development scheme provides comprehensive training and practical experience, culminating in a Second Officer position with Jet2.com. Participants will gain invaluable insights into various departments at the Leeds headquarters, shadowing experienced professionals and contributing to the operations of a multi-award-winning airline. The programme also includes practical experience as cabin crew. Opportunities exist across our Boeing and Airbus fleets and various UK bases.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid UK Part-FCL issued Pilot’s Licence.
• Valid UK Class 1 Medical Certificate (minimum six months validity upon commencement).
• Completion of an APS MCC course, or a Jet Orientation Course (JOC) and Multi Crew Co-operation course (MCC).
• Advanced UPRT completion certificate.
• Strong ATPL results and training record.
• Successful completion of a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME-IR).
• Unrestricted right to work in the UK.
• Maintenance of flight currency through training or regular flying.

Upon successful completion of the 20-week programme, a fully bonded type rating will be provided, leading to a Second Officer position within one of Jet2.com's fleets.

Application Process:

• Applications are welcomed from individuals meeting the above requirements or anticipating completion within two months of application.
• Start dates are offered throughout the year, with placement in the next available intake.
• Shortlisted candidates will complete online psychometric and ability assessments, followed by a video interview.
• Final candidates will participate in further assessments, potentially including a remote interview, in-person assessment centre, and simulator exercise.
