Jet OUT is seeking an experienced Base Chief Pilot for their Dallas, TX location. This management role will oversee and support flight department personnel, ensuring high standards of professionalism and safety. The Base Chief Pilot will act as the primary liaison between base pilots and the Jet OUT main office, manage local pilot schedules, and contribute to the company's operational policies and growth.
About the Role
The Base Chief Pilot is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of pilots assigned to the Dallas base. This position requires a deep understanding of company manuals, Federal Aviation Regulations, and aircraft Flight Manuals. Key responsibilities include participating in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees, as well as conducting recurrent training and performance reviews for existing pilots. The role also involves managing interpersonal and disciplinary issues, coordinating pilot schedules, implementing new procedures, and representing Jet OUT with local service providers. Travel to other Jet OUT bases and training locations may be required.
Responsibilities

Report to the Chief Pilot and maintain close liaison with the Chief Pilot and Director of Operations.

Maintain proficiency as a Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on the CJ4.

Participate in pilot interviews, hiring, onboarding, and separation processes.

Supervise local flight crew personnel and mentor new hires.

Coordinate with the Training Manager on flight crew training and conduct or supervise training activities.

Conduct 135.293a and 135.299 checking events.

Conduct regular performance evaluations for base pilots.

Manage local pilot flight schedules, including commuter pilot scheduling.

Address local pilot performance, interpersonal, or disciplinary issues.

Ensure aircraft are properly equipped for all applicable operations.

Assist in formulating and coordinating operations policies and training initiatives.

Support updates to manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and checklists.

Oversee crew flight and duty records in accordance with operational and safety standards.

Supervise the distribution and posting of information regarding policy changes, route information, and aeronautical data.

Ensure all flight crew personnel are certified and supervised according to Federal Aviation Regulations.
Requirements

Minimum of two years of experience in Part 135 or Part 121 operations.

Minimum of one year of experience as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in turbojet operations.

Possess an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with an Airplane Multi-Engine Land (AMEL) rating.

Hold a current First Class Medical Certificate.

Accumulate a minimum of 3,500 hours of total flight time.

Achieve 1,500 hours of multi-engine flight time.

Accumulate 500 hours of turbofan flight time.

Possess a valid Driver’s License.

Hold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.

Must reside within one hour of the Dallas/Fort Worth (FTW) airport.
Preferred Qualifications

One year of experience as PIC in Part 135 or Part 121 operations.

Accumulate 4,000 hours of total flight time.

Possess a CE-525 Type Rating.

Accumulate 100 hours of CE-525C flight time.

Hold a Bachelor’s degree.

Experience in Aviation Management.

International flight experience.
