Position Summary
Jet Aviation is seeking an experienced and dedicated First Officer for the Cessna Citation Latitude based at the Opa-locka, Florida facility. This onsite position within Flight Services requires a flexible work arrangement and preparedness for extensive global travel. The First Officer provides critical support to the Pilot-In-Command (PIC) and ensures adherence to the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
The First Officer directly reports to the Pilot-In-Command assigned to the specific flight by company management.
Key Responsibilities (Main Responsibilities)
The selected candidate is entrusted with supporting the safe and efficient conduct of all flight operations, including:
- Supporting the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) to ensure the safe and regulatory compliant execution of all flights.
- Maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of all authorized aircraft systems, including all emergency systems and associated procedures for the aircraft type.
- Ensuring strict compliance with company-wide reporting protocols and promptly reporting any hazardous events or operational deviations.
- Committing to professional development by enhancing the leadership skills, technical knowledge, judgment, and proficiency necessary to qualify as a PIC.
- Obtaining the most current and necessary navigational information, including weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs, from authorized FAA flight service stations or other approved agencies.
- Filing or causing a flight plan to be filed with the FAA or the applicable ICAO state Air Traffic Control (ATC) facility.
- Analyzing area, enroute, and terminal charts for both the intended landing airport and designated alternates.
- Securing the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage when deemed necessary or as instructed by company management.
- Performing the critical functions of the Inflight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the applicable twelve-five standard security program or private charter standard security program.
- Conducting mandatory passenger safety briefings prior to departure.
- Executing additional duties assigned by the Pilot-In-Command.
- Representing Jet Aviation as a cohesive entity—both internally and externally—with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates applying for this specialist aviation role must meet the following mandatory criteria:
- Must possess an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with the appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- The candidate must obtain and maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- A minimum of 2,500 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- A minimum of 500 hours Multi-Engine Fixed Wing flight time.
- A minimum of 500 hours Pilot-in-Command Fixed Wing flight time.
- A minimum of 100 hours Turbojet flight time.
- At least three (3) years of professional aviation experience.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- The individual must be willing and able to travel worldwide extensively, without any restrictions.
- Must be available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational demands.

Working Environment and Benefits
Physical Demands: The physical demands outlined are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision required includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment: The employee must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment that includes both heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer facilities. The noise level is typically moderate but may reach occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals and departures. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. The candidate must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. Hangar environments may be subject to extreme heat and cold during certain seasons of the year.
