Guardian Flight, a leading provider of air medical transportation services and part of the Global Medical Response (GMR) family of solutions, is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Fixed Wing Pilot for a full-time opportunity. The position is based in Las Vegas, NV, and involves operating a King Air C90 aircraft to provide essential medical air transportation services. The pilot will be qualified to operate Pilatus aircraft as well. This role is integral to a professional team committed to upholding the highest safety standards for both crew members and patients.
The Fixed Wing Pilot collaborates with a team of medical professionals to ensure the safe transport of patients between locations and facilities. This involves maintaining aircraft readiness for flight dispatches in strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and company requirements, which includes managing aircraft cleanliness. The pilot is responsible for maintaining accurate company and regulatory documentation and record-keeping for shifts, load manifests, and other necessary details. Effective communication and collaboration are essential, interacting with air and ground dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners. Pilots provide thorough shift change information to the transitioning pilot and team, following established protocols for documenting details on the company change board. Continuous professional development is expected, with pilots accountable for maintaining all required certifications and participating in ongoing ground and air training.
Candidates must possess a Commercial Airplane Multi-Engine Land (MEL) rating and be willing and able to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate within five years of employment. A current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate is required, along with a valid and unexpired driver's license.
Flight Hour Requirements:
The role requires working in various outside weather conditions. Tasks may include deicing the aircraft, assisting with aircraft towing, maneuvering the aircraft in and out of the hangar, and preparing the plane for flight.
The position requires physical activities including standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The pilot may be required to assist with loading patients, which involves a lifting requirement of up to 70 lbs. Specific vision abilities necessary for this role include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Guardian Flight offers a competitive starting wage ranging from $106,836.09 to $117,633.55 annually. The position includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus upon successful completion of training and checkride, with no training contract required. A $40,000 retention bonus is also part of the compensation package (applicable after a six-month wait period and participation in a three-year program). Relocation assistance of $3,000 is provided, along with company-paid crew housing. The schedule is a favorable 7 days on, 7 days off rotation.
