General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, alongside advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
GA-ASI is seeking an experienced Manned Aircraft Pilot to contribute to innovative aerospace programs and advanced flight test operations. This role involves serving as Pilot in Command (PIC) for multi-engine land aircraft, ensuring the safety of the aircraft, passengers, and crew during flight operations. The Pilot identifies and assesses technical issues, coordinates with maintenance personnel for discrepancy correction, and ensures strict compliance with company policies, procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
Key responsibilities include completing, maintaining, and tracking all qualifications, training, pilot currencies, and medical requirements. The Pilot conducts high-level demonstrations for senior military and commercial customers, provides leadership and direction to less experienced professional and support staff, and maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information. The role requires observing all applicable laws and regulations and working in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures. Fostering and working effectively in a team environment is essential.
The ideal candidate typically requires education or formal training equivalent to a four-year technical degree and eight or more years of progressive experience in ground and flight operations. Equivalent professional aviation experience may be substituted in lieu of education. A strong aviation background is required, with specific experience flying modified Restricted/Experimental aircraft.
Candidates must demonstrate a complete and detailed understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts relevant to flight operations. Excellent organizational skills are necessary, including planning and coordinating work assignments with both external and internal personnel. The role demands a customer-focused approach and possession of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating with Airplane Multi-Engine Land (AMEL) privileges, along with a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

The ability to obtain a DOD clearance(s) as well as customer-specific clearance(s) is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. This position involves travel, both domestic and international, potentially for extended periods (0-25%). Excellent presentation, analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential for effective interface with all levels of military and civilian customers, contractors, aircrew, and other employees. Detailed knowledge of computer operations and applications, including MS Office, Apple iOS, Foreflight, Google Earth, and Garmin products, is necessary. The ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is critical.
Salary: $116,480 – $208,505
