This full-time, onsite position offers a challenging opportunity for an aviation professional to contribute to the development and testing of cutting-edge unmanned aircraft systems.
About the Role:
The Test Pilot plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of GA-ASI's unmanned aircraft systems. This individual will serve as Test Pilot, Instructor Test Pilot, and Flight Examiner, acting as a subject matter expert for all facets of these advanced systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct experimental test and evaluation flights.
- Serve as an instructor and flight examiner, training new and experienced pilots on all aspects of unmanned aircraft operations.
- Pilot company unmanned aerial vehicles.
- Develop and execute mission planning, briefings, mission execution, and debriefings.
- Ensure compliance with all governing regulations, including FAA regulations and company procedures.
- Act as a subject matter expert, consulting with engineering and senior management on aircraft development.
- Develop and verify procedures for new aircraft features.
- Create training syllabus courseware.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent professional aviation experience.
- Six or more years of progressively complex aviation experience.
- FAA Commercial Certificate with a current instrument rating.
- Strong understanding of technical aviation principles.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience with Predator, UAV, and/or military aviation.
- FAA instructor ratings (CFI and CFII) in manned aircraft.
- Graduation from a test pilot school.
Compensation:
GA-ASI offers a competitive salary ranging from $155,040 to $277,530, commensurate with experience.
Clearance:
This position requires a Secret level security clearance. US Citizenship is mandatory.
