Job Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking an experienced Corporate Pilot to support the Shuttle Flight Operations group in Poway, CA. This position is responsible for ground and flight operations, including mission planning, Crew Resource Management (CRM), flight plan reviews, and company training. The successful candidate will operate company aircraft while ensuring the highest standards of safety and providing technical solutions to complex aviation challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct mission planning, briefings, debriefings, and flight plan test reviews.
  • Operate company aircraft while maintaining responsibility for the safety of the aircraft, passengers, and crew.
  • Identify technical issues, coordinate with maintenance personnel, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Manage and maintain all required aircraft training qualifications, pilot currencies, and medical certifications.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to all applicable laws and safety regulations.

Job Qualifications

  • Education or formal training equivalent to a four-year technical degree; equivalent professional aviation experience may be substituted.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in ground and flight operations.
  • Strong aviation background with a comprehensive understanding of technical principles and concepts.
  • Challenger 350 type rating is preferred.
  • Possession of an FAA Commercial Pilot Multi-Engine Land (CMEL) Instrument rating and a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2,000 logged total pilot hours, including: 1,500 hours Pilot in Command, 500 hours Cross Country, 100 hours Instrument, and 500 hours in turbine aircraft.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain Department of Defense (DOD) and customer-specific clearances (Secret level desired).
  • Capability to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods (75%–100% travel required).
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and applications.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $81,080 – $141,650
