Position Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking an experienced Corporate Pilot to join the Shuttle Flight Operations group in Poway, CA. This position is responsible for ground and flight operations, including mission planning, Crew Resource Management (CRM), flight plan reviews, and support for aircraft modification efforts. The Corporate Pilot ensures the safe operation of company aircraft and provides technical solutions to complex aviation challenges to prevent project delays.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct mission planning, briefings, and debriefings.
  • Pilot company aircraft while maintaining the highest safety standards for the vessel, passengers, and crew.
  • Identify technical issues, develop solutions, and coordinate with maintenance personnel to resolve aircraft discrepancies.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Maintain accurate records for aircraft training, pilot currencies, and medical qualifications.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols regarding sensitive information.
  • Observe all applicable laws and regulations during domestic and international business operations.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Four-year technical degree or equivalent professional aviation experience.
  • Experience: Five or more years of progressive experience in ground and flight operations.
  • Technical Requirements: Demonstrated understanding of aviation principles and theories. Challenger 350 type rating is preferred.
  • Licensing: FAA Commercial Pilot Multi-Engine Land (CMEL) Instrument rating and a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
  • Flight Hours: Minimum of 2,000 total logged hours, including 1,500 hours Pilot in Command, 500 hours Cross Country, 100 hours Instrument, and 500 hours in turbine aircraft.
  • Citizenship: US Citizenship is required.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain DOD and customer-specific clearances (Secret level desired).
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; proficiency in computer operations and applications; strong organizational skills.
  • Availability: Ability to work independently or in a team, work extended hours, and travel domestically and internationally (75% - 100% travel required).

Compensation

Pay Range: $81,080 - $141,650
