Pilot-in-Command (PIC) – HondaJet HA-420
Gary Jet Center, a well-established and reputable aircraft charter and management company with a fully certified Part 145 repair station, seeks a highly qualified Pilot-in-Command for a HondaJet HA-420 based at Gary/Chicago Airport (KGYY). This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team within a family-owned and operated company boasting over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. The successful candidate will primarily support Part 91 owner operations and Part 135 on-demand charter flights. Preference will be given to candidates residing within a two-hour radius of KGYY. The role reports directly to the Director of Flight Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's General Operating Manual (GOM), Flight Operations Manual, all relevant FAA regulations, aircraft flight manuals, and other pertinent operational instructions.
- Ensure the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flight assignments.
- Develop detailed flight plans and obtain thorough pre-flight briefings encompassing flight purpose, weather conditions, operating procedures, and any special instructions.
- Verify that the aircraft undergoes meticulous pre-flight inspections and is appropriately loaded, equipped, and crewed for each flight.
- Supervise the loading and distribution of cargo and passengers, meticulously ensuring that weight and balance remain within the prescribed limitations as outlined in the aircraft's flight manual, load computer, or applicable loading schedules.
- Optimize flight altitude, considering factors such as turbulence, oxygen requirements, and passenger comfort.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Chief Pilot regarding all assigned duties, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- ATP Certificate
- First-Class Medical Certificate
- Valid US Passport
- HondaJet HA-420 type rating (preferred, but not required)
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 2,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
- Pilot-in-Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
- Instrument Flight Time: 150 hours
- Jet/Turbine Time: 500 hours
