Cutter Aviation | HA-420 Captain

Cutter Aviation is seeking a Captain/Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for a new HA420 HondaJet. This remote position, based at John Wayne–Orange County Airport in California, will support owner travel and conduct single-pilot Part 91 and Part 135 on-demand charter operations. The PIC will serve as the primary representative of Cutter Aviation, fostering relationships, ensuring world-class customer service, and managing aircraft operations.

About the Role

The Captain will operate the HA420 HondaJet in single-pilot Part 91 and Part 135 on-demand charter operations, fulfilling owner travel needs and charter flying requirements. Key responsibilities include delivering exceptional service, upholding the highest safety standards, maintaining 24/7 availability, adapting to flexible schedules and short-notice callouts, and acting as the external face of Cutter Aviation to clients and the aviation community. The role involves on-site management, coordination with Cutter Flight Management, adherence to operational procedures, and ensuring compliance with all relevant FAA regulations. The Captain will also be responsible for training a Second-in-Command (SIC) pilot and completing administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Multi-Engine Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP Unrestricted)
• Current 1st Class Medical Certificate or ability to obtain one
• No accidents, incidents, or sanctions within the past 5 years
• Knowledge of general aviation aircraft, their service requirements, and the needs of crews and passengers

Qualifications

• Previous Turbojet Type Rating and/or Turboprop experience (preferred)
• 3,000 Total Time hours (preferred)
• 1,500 PIC Hours (preferred)
• 250 PIC Hours in turbine-powered aircraft (preferred)
• Previous on-demand charter operations experience (preferred)
• Previous flight simulator training experience (FSI or Simuflite) (preferred)
