Service Training Instructor (STI) - Laval, Quebec

Ford of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Service Training Instructor (STI) to join our team at the Laval, Quebec facility. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will serve as the face of Ford technical expertise, responsible for teaching, mentoring, and certifying dealership technicians. As a regional subject matter expert, the STI ensures our dealer network is equipped to service the most advanced vehicle systems in the industry while providing essential support to National Service Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruction: Deliver high-impact, hands-on technical training for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Hybrid, and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) technologies via classroom and remote learning platforms.
  • Operations Management: Oversee daily operations at the Laval Service Training Centre, including maintenance of equipment certifications, workshop supplies, and facility upkeep.
  • Administration: Manage regional training schedules and waitlists utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Technical Support & Collaboration: Act as a consultant for dealers and field staff regarding technician competency and the Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET) program. Collaborate with curriculum development teams to create and refine training materials.
  • Travel: Travel to support training needs at other STCs or for professional development, which may include travel up to two weeks per month.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Automotive Technician with industry and/or Ford accreditation.
  • Fully bilingual (English and French) with professional-level proficiency in both oral and written communication.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
  • Valid driver’s license and a current passport for international travel (training in the US).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in Diesel, Electric Vehicle (EV) battery repair, and high-voltage systems.
  • Experience in automatic transmission diagnostics and repairs.
  • Prior experience in technical automotive training.
  • Previous experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, or Technical Instructor.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible learning modules.

Additional Information

The expected annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00 – $135,000.00, with potential eligibility for the Annual Compensation bonus program. This is a hybrid position; candidates near a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada, as Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited does not sponsor work permit applications. Proof of degree completion is required upon hire, including an Education Credential Assessment for degrees obtained outside of Canada.
