Job Summary

The Flight Instructor, Senior leverages expert aviation knowledge and facilitation skills to deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. This role is responsible for meeting client needs seamlessly in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts pilot ground and simulator training for clients undertaking core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
• Develops and prepares training materials that support training delivery to meet client needs in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
• Customizes scenarios based on unique client needs during training delivery.
• Dynamically adjusts instruction style and approach to deliver tailored training solutions for clients.
• Evaluates and measures trainee progress, recommending individuals for qualification or additional training as needed.
• Completes accurate training records specific to each client, supporting their success in achieving requested objectives.
• Assists others in resolving client training issues by providing constructive suggestions based upon gained knowledge and experience.
• Monitors and maintains personal Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Sets a positive example and makes identifiable contributions to the organization and customer experience.
• Adheres to and promotes FlightSafety Instructor Performance Standards.

Minimum Experience & Qualifications

• Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
• Possesses an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
• If an ATP is not held, must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
• Holds a minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
• Preferred: Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training environments.
• Preferred: A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.
• Preferred: Has earned and maintained FAA and/or EASA TCE qualification.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $115,000.00 to $206,875.00. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, education, skills, and experience, as well as market demands. These factors impact the salary/wage offered. The role requires physical range of body motion to perform tasks such as reaching, exerting pressure, and manipulating rudder controls and/or anti-torque with both feet; reaching and manipulating numerous controls within the Simulator device from the Instructor’s chair; entering and exiting the Simulator device via the provided ramp; moving between the Instructor station, screen, and podium while instructing in the classroom; and exiting a malfunctioned Simulator while the device is in a severely pitched attitude. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee may work in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
