Flight Instructor

The Instructor will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety training principles. The company operates the world’s largest fleet of advanced full-flight simulators and award-winning maintenance training at Learning Centers and training locations in the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients receiving core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
• Develop and prepare training materials that support training delivery and meet client needs, in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
• Evaluate and measure trainee progress, recommending qualification or additional training as necessary.
• Complete accurate training records specific to each client, facilitating their success in achieving desired objectives.
• Identify client training issues and seek assistance proactively.
• Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Participation in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program is mandatory.
• Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
• In the absence of an ATP, candidates must meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 61.153 and 14 CFR Part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
• A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is essential.
• Preferred experience includes FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience.
• Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
• Familiarity with common aviation regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage classes and teach.
• Possession of first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
• Receptiveness to coaching and feedback to support ongoing professional development.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The role involves regular use of hands for manipulating objects, tools, and controls, as well as reaching and communicating. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and taste or smell.

The position demands the physical range of motion necessary to operate rudder controls, anti-torque mechanisms, and numerous controls within the simulator device. The employee must be able to enter and exit the simulator via a ramp, move between the instructor station, screen, and podium, and exit a malfunctioning simulator in a pitched attitude. Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment, are required.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The work environment frequently involves proximity to moving mechanical parts. Exposure to high places, outside weather conditions, wet/humid conditions, fumes/airborne particles, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risks, radiation risks, and vibration may occur.
