Flight Instructor

FlightSafety International, the world’s premier professional aviation training company, seeks a qualified Flight Instructor. The Instructor will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety training principles.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients participating in core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
• Develop and prepare training materials supporting training delivery, tailored to meet client needs and in accordance with applicable curriculum.
• Evaluate and measure trainee progress, recommending qualification or further training as needed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed training records for each client, facilitating their achievement of objectives.
• Identify client training challenges and proactively seek assistance prior to execution.
• Maintain instructor qualifications in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
• An unrestricted ATP certificate, or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
• If without an ATP certificate, the candidate must meet the requirements of:
  • 14 CFR part 61.153
  • 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
• A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.

Preferred Experience:

• FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience.
• 2,500 hours of total flight time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
• Solid understanding of common aviation regulations.
• Proven ability to effectively manage classes and teach.
• Proficiency in basic facilitation skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Receptiveness to coaching and feedback to support professional development.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The role involves using hands for fine manipulation, reaching, talking, and hearing. The employee may stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell.

The employee must possess the physical range of motion to: reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder controls with both feet; reach and manipulate simulator controls from the instructor’s chair; enter and exit the simulator via a ramp; move between the instructor station, screen, and podium while instructing in the classroom; and exit from a malfunctioning simulator in a severely pitched attitude. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The role frequently involves working near moving mechanical parts. The employee may work in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.
