Flight Instructor

FlightSafety International, the world's premier professional aviation training company, seeks a qualified Flight Instructor to deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. The successful candidate will instruct pilots in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients receiving core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
• Develop and prepare training materials that support training delivery to meet client needs, adhering to the applicable curriculum.
• Evaluate and measure trainee progress and recommend individuals for qualification or additional training.
• Complete accurate training records specific to each client, contributing to their success in achieving the requested objectives.
• Identify client training issues and seek assistance prior to execution.
• Maintain Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
• An unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
• In the absence of an ATP, candidates must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
• A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is essential.

Preferred Experience:

• FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
• Solid understanding of common aviation regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classes and teach effectively.
• Possession of first-level facilitation skills.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Receptiveness to coaching and feedback to support professional development.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The role requires the regular use of hands for various tasks, including manipulating objects, tools, and controls. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell.

Physical capabilities must include the range of body motion necessary to operate rudder controls, anti-torque pedals, and simulator controls. This includes the ability to enter and exit the simulator, move between instructor stations, and egress from a malfunctioning simulator. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The work environment involves frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts. The employee may work in high, precarious places, and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.
