Flight Instructor

FlightSafety International, the world's premier professional aviation training company, seeks a qualified Flight Instructor. As a Flight Instructor, the individual will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety training principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients in core, specialty, and enrichment training courses.
  • Develop and prepare training materials to support training delivery, meeting client needs in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
  • Evaluate and measure trainee progress and recommend individuals for qualification or additional training.
  • Complete accurate training records specific to each client, aiding their success in achieving objectives.
  • Identify client training issues and seek assistance prior to execution.
  • Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Experience:

  • Must participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
  • Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
  • In the absence of an ATP certificate, the candidate must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
  • A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is mandatory.
  • Preferred: FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience.
  • Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of common aviation regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage classes and teach effectively.
  • Possession of first-level facilitation skills.
  • Possession of first-level customer service skills.
  • Receptiveness to coaching and feedback to support professional development.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The role involves regular use of hands, arms, and the ability to talk and hear. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell. Must possess the physical range of motion to manipulate flight controls, enter and exit the simulator, and move between instructor stations and the classroom. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must regularly lift up to 10 pounds and frequently lift up to 25 pounds. The work environment involves moving mechanical parts, potential exposure to high places, outside weather conditions, wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $85,250.00 to $145,200.00. Compensation will depend on qualifications, education, skills, experience, and market demands.
