FlightSafety International, a world-renowned leader in professional aviation training and a supplier of advanced flight simulators and visual systems, seeks a highly qualified Flight Instructor. The successful candidate will provide exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to all aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training principles. This role involves delivering core, specialty, and enrichment training courses to a diverse clientele. The Flight Instructor will be responsible for developing and preparing training materials, evaluating trainee progress, and maintaining meticulous training records. They must identify training issues proactively and maintain Instructor qualifications in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
Minimum qualifications include participation in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program, an unrestricted ATP certificate or an equivalent ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License, or meeting the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation. A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is required, and experience with FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training is preferred, along with 2,500 hours of total flight time.
The ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards, common aviation regulations, and has demonstrated the ability to manage classes and teach effectively. Essential skills include first-level facilitation and customer service abilities, along with a willingness to be coached and receive feedback. The role requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including manipulating flight controls, and the ability to enter and exit the simulator, while working within the simulator environment. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee must regularly lift up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds. The work environment may involve proximity to moving mechanical parts, exposure to various weather conditions, and potential exposure to other environmental factors.
