This position offers a competitive salary range of $85,250.00 - $145,200.00, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and market demands. Purpose of Position:
The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the highest level of training for our clients, empowering them to excel in their aviation careers.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that align with the applicable curriculum, ensuring they meet client needs and facilitate effective knowledge transfer.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress, providing constructive feedback and recommending qualification or additional training as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed training records for each client, contributing to their success in achieving desired objectives.
- Identify client training issues and seek assistance proactively to ensure optimal training outcomes.
- Uphold Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements, ensuring continuous professional development and expertise.
Minimum Experience:
- Must be willing and able to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- An unrestricted ATP certificate, or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
- If no ATP, must meet the requirements outlined in 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
- Preferred: Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training environments.
- Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Familiarity with common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to manage classes and deliver effective training sessions.
- First-level facilitation skills to foster interactive learning environments.
- First-level customer service skills to provide outstanding client support.
- Demonstrated ability to be coachable and receptive to feedback for continuous development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position involves regular use of hands for manipulating objects, tools, and controls; reaching with hands and arms; and communicating verbally. The role may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and sensory activities like tasting and smelling.
Candidates must possess the following physical capabilities:
- Reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder controls and/or anti-torque with both feet.
- Reach and manipulate multiple controls within the Simulator device from the Instructor's chair.
- Enter and exit the Simulator device via the provided ramp.
- Move between the Instructor station, screen, and podium while instructing in the classroom.
- Exit from a malfunctioning Simulator while the device is in a severely pitched attitude.
Visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Physical demands include lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently. The work environment involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts. While the role typically takes place in controlled environments, occasional exposure to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration may occur.
