Purpose of the Position

The Flight Instructor plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to stringent aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles. This role directly contributes to the development of highly skilled and competent aviators.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective pilot ground and simulator training to clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
• Develop and prepare comprehensive training materials tailored to meet specific client needs and in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
• Evaluate and meticulously measure trainee progress, providing recommendations for qualification or additional training as needed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed training records for each client, facilitating their successful achievement of their training objectives.
• Proactively identify any client training issues and seek appropriate assistance before course execution.
• Maintain personal Instructor qualifications in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring the highest standards of instruction.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be eligible and willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
• Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate, or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
• In the absence of an ATP, candidates must meet the requirements outlined in 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
• A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training environments is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time is preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
• Comprehensive understanding of common aviation regulations.
• Proven ability to effectively manage classes and deliver engaging instruction.
• Strong first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
• Receptiveness to coaching and feedback to support continuous professional development.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires physical dexterity and the ability to operate simulator controls, including rudder and anti-torque pedals, using both feet. Instructors must be able to access and maneuver within the simulator environment, including entering and exiting via a ramp and moving between the instructor station, screen, and podium.

The work environment may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, and outdoor weather conditions. Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, and vibration may occur.
