Flight Instructor Position at FlightSafety International

FlightSafety International, the world's premier professional aviation training company, seeks a highly qualified and motivated Flight Instructor to join its team. Purpose of the Position:

As a Flight Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles. You will guide trainees through both ground and simulator flight instruction, ensuring they meet the highest standards of competency.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Deliver ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
• Develop and prepare training materials tailored to client needs, adhering to the relevant curriculum.
• Evaluate trainee progress and recommend appropriate qualification or further training.
• Maintain accurate training records for each client, facilitating their success in achieving desired objectives.
• Proactively identify client training issues and seek assistance prior to execution.
• Maintain Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
• Hold an unrestricted ATP certificate, or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
• If no ATP, must meet the requirements of:
  • 14 CFR part 61.153
  • 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
• A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
• Preferred: FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience.
• Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
• Strong understanding of common aviation regulations.
• Proven ability to manage classes and teach effectively.
• First-level facilitation skills.
• First-level customer service skills.
• Ability to be coachable and receptive to feedback for ongoing development.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The position requires regular use of hands for handling objects, tools, and controls. The employee will frequently stand, walk, and sit, and may be required to perform various physical tasks, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The role involves lifting and moving up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently.

Employees may frequently work near moving mechanical parts and occasionally encounter high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, radiation, and vibration.
