Purpose of Position

The Flight Instructor plays a critical role in shaping the skills and knowledge of future aviators. This position demands a deep understanding of aviation regulations, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to upholding FlightSafety's unwavering commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective ground and simulator training to pilots participating in core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
• Develop and refine training materials tailored to meet the specific needs of each client, ensuring alignment with the applicable curriculum.
• Evaluate trainee progress, providing constructive feedback and recommending additional training or qualification as needed.
• Meticulously maintain accurate training records for each client, contributing to their successful achievement of training objectives.
• Proactively identify and address potential client training challenges, seeking assistance and implementing solutions to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Maintain Instructor qualifications in strict adherence to regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Willingness to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
• Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
• Alternatively, candidates without an ATP must fulfill the requirements outlined in 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
• A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.

Preferred:

• Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training environments.
• A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires physical dexterity for operating simulator controls, including the ability to reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder and anti-torque mechanisms. Candidates must be comfortable entering and exiting simulators, potentially in unusual attitudes. The ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds is necessary.

Work Environment:

The work environment may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, and outdoor weather conditions. Occasional exposure to fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and other elements associated with flight simulation environments is possible.
