Purpose of Position

The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. This individual will adhere to all aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires the physical dexterity to manipulate rudder controls and anti-torque mechanisms with both feet, as well as reach and operate various controls within the simulator. The Flight Instructor must be able to navigate the simulator environment, including entering and exiting via a ramp and moving between the instructor station, screen, and podium during classroom instruction. In the event of a simulator malfunction, the individual must be capable of safely exiting the device, even when it is in a severely pitched attitude.

Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The Flight Instructor must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds frequently.

This role operates in an environment with moving mechanical parts, and may involve working in high places, outside weather conditions, and exposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, radiation, and vibration.
