Position Overview:
First Officers at Flair Airlines are future leaders committed to upholding the highest personal and professional standards. They contribute to the safe and efficient operation of flights and work collaboratively to enhance customer experiences through effective leadership, positive attitudes, excellent communication, and strong problem-solving abilities. Reporting to the Chief Pilot, First Officers are also responsible to the Pilot in Command during duty periods. Flair Airlines operates a modern fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft serving a growing network of destinations across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. The airline is actively recruiting full-time First Officers of varying experience to meet the demands of its expanding route structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-flight inspections of aircraft and systems to ensure safety and airworthiness.
- Operate the aircraft safely and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
- Monitor weather conditions and communicate effectively with air traffic control.
- Assist the Pilot in Command in all aspects of flight management and crew coordination.
- Review flight plans prior to takeoff, adhering to all Transport Canada regulations.
- Proactively anticipate potential issues and contribute to maintaining the established commercial schedule.
- Assist the Pilot in Command in promptly notifying crew and passengers of turbulence, adverse weather conditions, or other operational factors that may affect the flight.
- Maintain necessary communications with maintenance, SOCC, and dispatch personnel, as directed by the Pilot in Command.
- Remain informed of advancements in aircraft technology and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1,000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
- Unrestricted travel eligibility to and from the United States.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
- Valid Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot’s License (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot License with either IATRA or SAMRA/SARON exams completed.
- Valid Category 1 medical certificate.
- Proficiency in English and/or French language.
- Clear background and criminal record checks.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range from $90,000.00 to $136,800.00, as per the Collective Agreement.
- Minimum monthly guarantee of 85 flying credits, with overtime eligibility after 88 hours.
- Comprehensive benefits package including Disability Insurance, Dental Insurance, Employer-provided Pension, Extended Medical Insurance, Staff Travel Program, Cellular and dry-cleaning monthly allowances, Company Matched Pension eligibility.
- Guaranteed 12-13 days off per month, with an average of 15 days off.
