Minimum Requirements for A320 Captain Candidates
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum flight experience and licensing requirements:
- Total Flight Time: A minimum of 4,500 hours flown on multi-crew aeroplanes.
- Pilot-In-Command (PIC) Experience: A minimum of 1,500 total PIC hours.
- A320 Family Experience: A minimum of 1,500 total hours on the Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
- A320 PIC Time: A minimum of 500 PIC hours specifically on the A320.
- Recency (Preferred): The last A320 PIC flight should ideally have occurred within the last 12 months.
- Licensing: A valid EASA, FAA, or ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with a current Instrument Rating (IR) for the applied aircraft type.
- Medical Certificate: A current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Language Proficiency: ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher.
