Lead Pilot in Command - Falcon 2000LX

Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company and a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, is seeking a qualified Lead Pilot in Command for a Falcon 2000LX aircraft based in Bedford, MA (KBED). As a subsidiary of NetJets, Executive Jet Management is part of the world's largest private aviation infrastructure, offering unrivaled resources and operational stability. This position, within a 3-pilot account supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician and Cabin Attendant, operates under both Part 91 and Part 135 regulations. The account is new to Executive Jet Management, and preference will be given to candidates with Falcon 2000LX type rating and experience who reside within a two-hour drive of KBED. The flight schedule anticipates approximately 250 hours under Part 91 and 150 hours under Part 135 annually.

The Lead Pilot in Command serves as a peer leader within a designated flight department, focusing on effective crew resource management, client service, and the completion of flight department administrative duties. The Lead PIC actively participates in the flying schedule, adhering to all Pilot in Command duties and expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages client relationships, balancing client needs with those of Executive Jet Management, proactively communicating to address issues or opportunities.
  • Collaborates with maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all aircraft maintenance events, including scheduled and unscheduled tasks.
  • Completes administrative duties such as invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, and crew schedules.
  • Supports flight department crew members, ensuring understanding of tasks and motivating team members to achieve flight department goals. Reports concerns to the Regional Chief Pilot.
  • Manages flight department administration matters, including supplies, subscriptions, and crew schedules.
  • Ensures crewing and trip assignments are compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Completes flight planning, performance, and weight and balance tasks.
  • Utilizes Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead briefings and mitigate operational risks.
  • Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and acts as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator.
  • Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks and records discrepancies.
  • Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items are monitored and accomplished.
  • Completes passenger briefings and delivers a high level of customer service.
  • Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for effective communication during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
  • Provides quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the Executive Jet Management service experience.
  • Maintains regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
  • Complies with the company Safety Management System (SMS) and reports safety concerns.
  • Ensures all crewmembers remain qualified to act in their assigned capacity.
  • Ensures all crewmembers comply with company policies and audits are in place.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in corporate/business aviation preferred.
  • FAA Type rating in Falcon 2000LX
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Minimum Time Requirements:

  • Total flight time: 3500 hours
  • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
  • Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
  • PIC MEL: 500 hours
  • Instrument: 300 hours
  • Jet: 500 hours

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $425,000, dependent on cabin size.
