The Role: A320 First Officer
As an integral member of the flight deck team, the A320 First Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Captain to ensure the safe, secure, and efficient operation of every flight. This position demands professionalism, technical expertise, and strong collaborative skills, while also cultivating leadership capabilities essential for future command progression.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting the Captain in all facets of flight preparation, navigation, and operation, adhering strictly to Etihad's operating procedures and regulatory standards.
Conducting continuous and independent monitoring of aircraft position, terrain, and weather conditions to ensure navigational safety at all times.
Facilitating clear communication, providing expert advice, and offering support to the Captain to foster informed and efficient decision-making.
Maintaining the highest standards of discipline, conduct, and personal presentation, representing Etihad Airways with professionalism in all interactions.
Assuming command responsibilities in the event of Captain incapacitation, in accordance with rank and established company procedures.
Candidate Profile: What You'll Bring
To be considered for the A320 First Officer position, candidates must satisfy the general eligibility criteria and meet either Criteria A or Criteria B for flight experience:
General Eligibility Criteria:
Previous flight experience on any A320 family aircraft within the last 12 months.
A valid A320 type rating, with at least two months remaining from the date of joining.
An unrestricted ATPL or a valid frozen ATPL issued by an ICAO member state.
An unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
Must not have reached the age of 50 on the day of joining.
Fluent in English (written and verbal), with an ICAO Level 4 proficiency or higher.
Flight Experience Criteria:
Criteria A:
Minimum of 2,000 hours total flying time.
Minimum of 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit aircraft (defined as aircraft with an FMS coupled to an APFDS).
Minimum of 500 hours on type (A320 family).
Criteria B:
Minimum of 1,500 hours total flying time.
Minimum of 1,000 hours on any A320 family aircraft.
(Note: Holders of a Frozen ATPL License (CPL) are required to provide results of the ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Exam and an integrated ATPL course completion certificate.)
