Test Pilot – Experimental Certification Flight Test

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As part of a small and accomplished Flight Test Department, you will directly impact the advancement of the industry's fastest, most fuel-efficient single-engine turboprop. The Experimental/Certification Flight Test Pilot will perform flight testing in support of engineering R&D, as well as developmental and certification flight testing. You will actively contribute to flight test safety and provide technical expertise related to flight test and aircraft operation in support of aircraft design and development.

Responsibilities include:

• Serving as Pilot-In-Command of R&D and certification flight test
• Planning testing with flight test engineers to safely and efficiently execute flight test operations
• Performing risk assessments and write risk mitigation procedures
• Working with flight test engineers writing and reviewing flight test plans and results
• Contributing to flight readiness reviews, test safety reviews, and overall flight test safety
• Clearly expressing opinions and making recommendations based on flight test results
• Effectively articulating work requirements through both written and verbal communications

Other expectations include:

• Evaluating weather, aircraft status, and other factors to determine safe go/no-go decisions
• Operating aircraft in accordance with applicable regulations and Epic company policies
• Complying with and proactively contributing to safety procedures and policies
• Working well as part of a team as well as independently
• Possessing detailed knowledge of Part 23 CFRs and ACs

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent education and work experience
• Certification flight test experience or test pilot school graduate
• 3+ years flight test pilot experience
• Commercial Pilot ASE
• Current 1st or 2nd Class Medical
• 2000 hrs. Total Time
• IFR current
• 100 hrs. PIC turbine
• Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
• Current Passport

DESIRABLE

• FAA flight test pilot DER/UM experience
• Previous experience with Part 23 flight test certification
• Previous experience with aircraft envelope expansion
• Single-engine turboprop experience
• Experience with Garmin G1000 or G1000 NXi
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
