Position Description: Direct Entry Captain
The Direct Entry Captain assumes the most senior command position on the aircraft, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of international flights across Emirates' extensive global network.

Mandatory Role Requirements
To qualify as an Emirates Airbus Direct Entry Captain, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Minimum total flying time of 7,000 hours (excluding P3, rotary, and single/multi-engine piston aircraft experience).
- A valid ICAO Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) and a corresponding Authority Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or higher.
- Minimum of 150 hours flown in the past 12 months on the current aircraft type.
Specific Fleet Experience Requirements:
- For Airbus A380: The candidate must currently be operating as an Airbus Fly-by-Wire (FBW) Wide Body Captain and possess a minimum of 3,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) on Airbus FBW Wide Body aircraft.
- For Airbus A350: The candidate must have a minimum of 3,000 hours command time on a multi-crew, multi-engine commercial jet aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) exceeding 50 tonnes. A minimum of 1,500 hours within this command time must be as a Captain on an Airbus FBW Wide Body aircraft.
