The Opportunity

The Direct Entry Captain assumes the most senior position in command of the aircraft, ensuring safe and efficient high-quality air transport services that facilitate global tourism and trade across six continents. Pilots joining Emirates will contribute to an award-winning operation known for its industry-leading services, spacious cabins, and iconic features such as the A380 Shower Spa, Onboard Lounge, and the extensive 'ice' inflight entertainment system.

Compensation Overview

Minimum Monthly Salary (Captain): AED 40,100 (approximately USD 10,926), exclusive of flight pay.

Minimum Role Requirements for Airbus Captains

To be considered for the position of Direct Entry Captain on the Emirates wide-body fleet, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • A minimum of 7,000 hours total flying time (excluding P3, rotary and single/multi-engine piston aircraft).
  • Must hold a valid ICAO Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) with a matching Authority Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • A minimum ICAO English proficiency level of 5 or above.
  • A minimum of 150 hours flown on type within the preceding 12 months.
Fleet Specific Command Time Requirements:
  • For A380 Operations: The candidate must currently be flying as an Airbus Fly-by-Wire (FBW) Wide Body Captain and possess a minimum of 3,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on Airbus FBW Wide Body aircraft.
  • For A350 Operations: The candidate must possess a minimum of 3,000 hours command time on a multi-crew, multi-engine commercial jet aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) exceeding 50 tonnes. A minimum of 1,500 hours must be accrued as Captain on an Airbus FBW Wide Body aircraft.
