Position Description

Direct Entry Captain: This is the most senior position in command of the aircraft, holding ultimate responsibility for the safety and operation of the flight and crew.

Role Requirements

To be considered for a position as an Airbus Captain with Emirates, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Minimum 7000 hours total flying time (excluding P3, rotary, and single/multi-engine piston aircraft).
• For the A380 fleet, candidates must currently be flying as an Airbus FBW Wide Body Captain and possess a minimum of 3000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on Airbus FBW Wide Body aircraft.
• For the A350 fleet, candidates must have a minimum of 3000 hours command time on a multi-crew, multi-engine commercial jet aircraft with an MTOW greater than 50T. A minimum of 1500 hours of this command time must be as a Captain on an Airbus FBW Wide Body aircraft.
• A minimum of 150 hours on the respective aircraft type within the last 12 months.
• Hold a valid ICAO ATPL accompanied by a matching Authority Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• Possess ICAO English language proficiency at Level 5 or above.
