About the Role
DC Aviation Al Futtaim is seeking an accomplished and experienced Captain for the Boeing 737. This dynamic role requires an individual with exceptional organizational skills and a flexible approach to consistently deliver robust results in high-pressure environments. Success in this position is further enhanced by excellent customer relationship skills, strong cultural awareness, and a readiness to operate on a flexible duty roster within the dedicated DC Aviation Al Futtaim team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Exercises final authority regarding the control of the aircraft, encompassing nautical authority.
- Maintains safety and order aboard the aircraft, exercising full board authority.
- Takes all necessary measures deemed essential in emergency situations.
- Assumes full responsibility for the safety of the aircraft, its payload, and all persons on board from the moment the doors are closed.
- Reports to superior officers any crew members who, after corrective comments, unequivocally violate existing directives in the performance of their duties, informing the respective Crew Manager about the intended report.
- Bears full responsibility for the operation and safety of the aircraft from the moment it is ready to move for takeoff until it finally comes to rest at the end of the flight and the engines are shut down.
- Organizes the work of the flight deck team in accordance with the principles of the 'Multi-Crew Concept,' determining who performs the duties of Pilot Flying (PF) and Pilot Not Flying (PNF).
- Ensures all checklists are meticulously complied with.
- Sets priorities and makes decisions, always giving precedence to safety while considering economy, passenger comfort, and punctuality.
- Possesses the required knowledge and qualifications for all assigned routes and airports.
- Maintains thorough familiarity with all relevant documentation and information.
- Ensures that comprehensive flight and weather briefings are conducted, thoroughly checking and evaluating weather reports and situations.
- Ensures strict compliance with maximum allowable flight and duty times.
- Verifies that all required documents (ship's papers) are on board and up-to-date.
- Reports all findings and irregularities promptly.
- Ensures and signs for the aircraft's airworthiness, required instrumentation and equipment, fulfilment of maintenance requirements, accurate mass and balance, and compliance with dangerous goods provisions.
- Retains the right to exclude persons and items from transportation as deemed necessary for safety or operational reasons.
- Fulfills all flight operational duties as detailed in the Operations Manual Part A (OM-A) and Part B (OM-B).
- Actively contributes to expanding the experience and knowledge of the flight crew.
- Conducts comprehensive cabin crew briefings.
- Bears responsibility for and assumes the duties of care for the assigned crew.
- Ensures that the actions of the entire crew towards passengers, as well as the crew's attire and public appearance, consistently promote the reputation and trust in DC Aviation Al Futtaim.
- Fosters good working relationships within the crew, ensures all members receive necessary information to fulfill their duties, and incorporates co-workers' opinions into the decision-making process.
- Delegates tasks to other cockpit and cabin crew members when deemed feasible and appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a valid GCAA or ICAO ATPL/IR, with a preference for GCAA licensure.
- Current Class Rating for Boeing 737 aircraft.
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- A minimum of 3,000 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours on transport category aircraft, including at least 1,500 hours on type (Boeing 737).
- High-level knowledge of international regulations governing commercial aircraft operations over land and water.
- Excellent proficiency in the English language.
