About the Role
DC Aviation Al Futtaim is seeking an experienced Captain for the Challenger 650 aircraft. This role operates within a dynamic aviation environment, requiring strong organizational capabilities and a flexible approach to achieve results under pressure. The successful candidate will possess excellent customer relationship skills, cultural awareness, and the willingness to work a flexible duty roster as a key member of the DCAF team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Captain holds the ultimate authority and responsibility for the safe and efficient conduct of the flight. Key responsibilities include:
- Exercising final authority over aircraft control, maintaining safety and order onboard (nautical, board, and emergency authority).
- Assuming full responsibility for the safety of the aircraft, load, and persons onboard from the moment of readiness for taxi until engine shutdown at the destination.
- Organizing and managing the flight deck team according to the Multi-Crew Concept, assigning Pilot Flying (PF) and Pilot Monitoring (PNF) duties.
- Ensuring strict compliance with all required checklists and procedures.
- Setting priorities and making decisions with paramount importance given to safety, followed by considerations for economy, passenger comfort, and punctuality.
- Possessing and maintaining the necessary knowledge and qualifications for intended routes and airports.
- Ensuring familiarity with all relevant documentation, including aircraft manuals and operational information.
- Conducting thorough flight and weather briefings and evaluating weather conditions.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with maximum allowable flight and duty times.
- Verifying the presence and currency of all required aircraft documents (ship's papers).
- Reporting any findings and irregularities encountered during operations.
- Confirming and signing for aircraft airworthiness, necessary instrumentation and equipment, maintenance status, mass and balance, and dangerous goods provisions.
- Exercising the authority to exclude persons or items from transportation when necessary for safety or security.
- Performing flight operational duties as defined in the Operations Manuals (OM-A and OM-B).
- Contributing to the professional development and knowledge expansion of the flight crew.
- Conducting pre-flight cabin crew briefings.
- Assuming responsibility for the care and well-being of the crew members.
- Ensuring the conduct, attire, and public appearance of the entire crew reflects positively on the reputation of DC Aviation Al Futtaim.
- Promoting positive working relationships within the crew, ensuring effective information flow, and incorporating co-workers' input into decision-making processes.
- Delegating tasks to cockpit and cabin crew members as deemed feasible and appropriate.
- Reporting crew members who unequivocally violate existing directives to superior officers after initial corrective action, informing the respective Crew Manager.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Candidates for this Captain position are required to meet the following criteria:
- Hold a valid GCAA or ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with Instrument Rating (IR); a GCAA license is preferred.
- Possess a current Type Rating on the Challenger 650 aircraft.
- Hold a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Accumulate a minimum of 3,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) flight time on transport category aircraft.
- Possess a minimum of 1,500 hours flight time on the Challenger 650 aircraft type.
- Demonstrate a high level of knowledge regarding international regulations governing commercial aircraft operations over land and water.
- Exhibit excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English.
Additional Information
This is a full-time contract position. Permanent residency in Dubai, UAE is required. Applicants must either be current permanent residents of Dubai or be willing to relocate.
