Job Summary

The Flight Instructor provides industry-leading, learner-centric flight training to Cirrus customers. Operating out of premier Cirrus Service Centers, the instructor utilizes a structured syllabus and proprietary course material to support the learning process for Cirrus Aircraft SR model airplanes. This role reports to the Flight Operations Supervisor and includes responsibilities for flight reviews, proficiency checks, and corporate flight operations, including demonstration, repositioning, and post-maintenance flights.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all industry and Cirrus safety procedures and policies.
  • Provide professional flight and ground instruction in accordance with Cirrus policy and procedure documents.
  • Conduct training events following program guidance and assess pilot performance in psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains.
  • Meticulously record training activities and results in pilot training records.
  • Recommend students for FAA written and practical tests.
  • Act as pilot in command for corporate missions, ferry flights, internal training, and demonstration flights.
  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections, including cleaning, fueling, and updating chart subscriptions.
  • Maintain a deep level of aircraft knowledge and act as a representative of Cirrus Aircraft.
  • Identify opportunities for training customization and communicate pilot progression.

Qualifications

  • One year of pilot experience.
  • 350 dual given hours, or 250 dual given hours in Cirrus aircraft.
  • Current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (Airplane Single Engine, Instrument Airplane).
  • Current FAA Pilot Certificate (Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land, Instrument Airplane).
  • Current Second-class Airman Medical Certificate or higher.
  • Preferred experience: IFR in congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive IMC, international flight, and night experience.
