Requirements:
To be considered for the position of Hong Kong-based First Officer, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:
- Possession of an ICAO Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with a Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR) and same state ATPL examination credits – obtained without exemption or conversion.
- A valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- ICAO English Language Proficiency at Level 4 or above.
- A minimum total flying time of 1500 hours, including:
- A minimum of 500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (P1), of which a maximum of 250 hours may be Pilot-in-Command Under Supervision (P1 U/S).

The selection process includes a pre-employment medical examination (including an HKCAD Class 1 medical*) and a thorough background check, which incorporates a review of criminal records.
Refer to the HKCAD aeromedical policy for complete fitness-to-fly requirements. As this is a Safety Sensitive Role, the successful candidate is also required to pass a pre-employment drug test. Testing will adhere to the HKCAD Guidance for screening of Psychoactive Substances – Annex B, CAD373.
