Requirements

To be considered for the position of Hong Kong-based First Officer, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Licensing & Experience:

• ICAO Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with a Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR) and same state ATPL examinations credits – obtained without exemption or conversion.
• Minimum total flying time of 1500 hours, including:
  • Minimum 500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC), of which a maximum of 250 hours can be PIC Under Supervision (P1 U/S).
  • Please refer to HKCAD documentation for specific ATPL(A) requirements.
• And including either A or B below:
  • A) 500 hours on civil aircraft for multi-crew operations with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) exceeding 45,000 kg.
  • B) 500 hours (including at least 250 PIC and/or PIC U/S hours) in the preceding 5 years OR 100 sectors in the preceding 5 years on civil aircraft certified for multi-crew operations with MTOW exceeding 10,000 kg or aircraft certified and configured for more than 19 passengers.

Medical & Language:

• A valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or above.

Selection Process:

The selection process includes a pre-employment medical check, encompassing the HKCAD Class 1 medical. Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment background check, including criminal record verification. As this is a Safety Sensitive Role, a pre-employment drug test will be conducted according to HKCAD guidelines.

Note: Acceptance of First Officers to the A320 fleet with less than the minimum weight requirements may be granted based on overall experience and performance during the recruitment process.
