Instructor Pilot

CAE is seeking dedicated Instructor Pilots to join our team in the pursuit of aviation excellence. As an Instructor Pilot, you will play a critical role in developing pilot confidence and skill by delivering high-quality simulator and ground training. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), leading training sessions and guiding clients through their professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver flight simulator and ground school training in alignment with regulatory requirements, CAE curriculum, and customer expectations.
  • Conduct professional and comprehensive pre- and post-flight simulator briefings.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for internal course development and client training programs.
  • Perform essential administrative duties, including the maintenance of training records, upkeep of instructional qualifications, and recommendations for remedial training.
  • Provide instruction across one or more aircraft types for licenses, type ratings, certificates, and internal qualifications.
  • Qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman after approximately 1.5 years of service, subject to business requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Unrestricted ATP certificate or completion of ATP Written.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based programs.
  • Participation in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated passion for teaching.
  • Preferred: Unrestricted PIC Type Rating.
  • Preferred: 3,000+ total flight hours and FAR Part 135 experience.
  • Highly desired: Experience flying business aircraft.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior instructional or training experience.
  • Proven ability to tailor training content to a diverse customer base.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accurate recordkeeping in accordance with CAE and FAA standards.
  • Demonstrated customer-service mindset and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to constantly ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Ability to occasionally move into different positions, including confined spaces.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally move about to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to occasionally adjust or move objects up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, or fingers.
