Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Sensor Operator Instructor - Basic UAS Training

Role Overview

The organization actively seeks applications from highly qualified and experienced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Sensor Operator Instructors to support its comprehensive Basic Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) training delivery program near Al Majma’ah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a Regular position within a demanding Defense & Security environment.

The UAV Sensor Operator Instructor operates as a crucial member of the training team, responsible for delivering specialized academic and practical instruction within a classroom setting. The instructor is expected to utilize extensive aviation expertise, instructional competence, and varied computer skills (text and graphics) to develop, deliver, and rigorously maintain multi-media and computer-assisted courseware packages.

This is a critical customer-facing role, prioritizing the effective identification, support, and response to customer needs and requests, ensuring high standards of training excellence are consistently met.

Core Responsibilities

The Instructor will successfully execute the following primary duties:

  • Deliver specialized Remote Piloted Aircraft (RPA) system training in areas of expertise, providing instruction to customers near Al Majma’ah, Saudi Arabia.
  • Conduct academic and practical instruction using a wide variety of advanced instructional training aids, including multimedia presentations (videos, slides, PowerPoint), physical system components, and crew/group-based simulators.
  • Develop, update, and sustain high-quality multi-media courseware and computer-assisted training materials.
  • Serve as a primary customer interface, effectively identifying and supporting customer requirements and managing complex requests.
  • Analyze and interpret intricate documents, responding effectively to sensitive inquiries and feedback from clients and stakeholders.
  • Generate professional and effective oral and written presentations and proposals pertaining to complex subject matter.

Required Qualifications (Minimum Standards)

Candidates must satisfy the following mandatory requirements:

  • Possession of current or previously rated military sensor operator status, or documented equivalent civil sensor/mission operator experience.
  • Proven prior experience as a certified Instructor Sensor Operator (e.g., USAF specialty code “K,” RAF Q qualifications, or equivalent civilian certification).
  • A minimum of 1000 total hours of flying or operating time, derived from both simulated and/or live environments.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of verified instructional experience.
  • Exceptional ability to read, analyze, and interpret highly complex documents and provide effective, timely responses.

Desired Qualifications (Preferred Attributes)

The ideal applicant will demonstrate the following advantageous qualifications:

  • Significant operational experience with a broad spectrum of sensor capabilities and diverse types, sizes, roles, and complexity levels of UAV platforms.
  • Documented flying or operating time specifically on fixed-wing UAV type(s).
  • Previous instructional experience specifically related to fixed-wing UAV platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional cultural awareness and foster strong, positive relationships with the customer base.
  • A proven capacity to adapt, innovate, and work effectively in a multicultural and multi-agency environment, maintaining composure under pressure.
  • The capability to autonomously manage and resolve complex technical problems.

Administrative and Security Requirements

The position operates in a Defense & Security environment and requires:

  • The absolute ability to obtain and maintain an employment visa for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
  • Adherence to appropriate dress, grooming, and bearing standards commensurate with a high-security defense environment.
  • The primary workplace is a dedicated classroom setting.
