Air Traffic Services Instructor
CAE is seeking experienced Air Traffic Services Instructors to participate in a groundbreaking partnership with NAV CANADA. This initiative will train the next generation of Flight Service Specialists and Air Traffic Controllers, utilizing NAV CANADA’s curriculum at a new, purpose-built training center in Montreal. As the world’s largest aviation training provider, CAE, in collaboration with the second-largest Air Navigation Service Provider, will develop a highly skilled workforce to ensure the safety and efficiency of the air traffic system.
The Air Traffic Services Instructor will deliver classroom and simulator-based instruction for initial Air Traffic Services (ATS) training programs, adhering to regulatory and customer requirements. Responsibilities include conducting thorough classroom training and simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards, executing simulator sessions following customer Standard Operating Procedures, acting as an invigilator for examinations and progress checks, maintaining comprehensive training records, recommending remedial training when necessary, recording simulator usage, participating in training updates, and acting as a subject matter expert in curriculum improvement.
Candidates must possess the qualifications and experience approved by Transport Canada to serve as an Air Traffic Service Instructor. A working knowledge of ICAO or Transport Canada Air Traffic Control regulations, a minimum of three years of experience in an operational Air Traffic Services position, a passion for training, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong customer orientation, a focus on quality and process improvement, the ability to concentrate in a fast-paced environment, and adaptability to change are essential. Fluency in English and/or French is required.
Ideal candidates will possess prior experience as a Flight Service Specialist, Tower Controller, or Instrument Flight Rules Controller in Canada, prior instructional experience, and an existing instructor qualification issued by a Regulatory Authority.
