Air Traffic Services Instructor
CAE, a global leader in aviation training, seeks experienced Air Traffic Services Instructors to join its innovative new division, a first-of-its-kind partnership. This exciting opportunity will contribute to the training of the next generation of Flight Service Specialists and Air Traffic Controllers at a state-of-the-art training center. Instruction will utilize established curriculum and courseware, commencing in Fall 2024. This collaboration leverages the expertise of two industry leaders to address evolving air traffic management needs and ensure the safety and efficiency of the airspace.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging classroom and simulator-based instruction on generic initial Air Traffic Services (ATS) training programs, adhering to all regulatory and customer requirements.
- Conduct simulator sessions in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Administer theoretical and practical examinations and progress checks.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate client training records, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer between instructors.
- Identify and recommend remedial training for trainees requiring additional support.
- Document simulator usage and any discrepancies according to established procedures.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to ATS and instructional methodologies.
- Contribute subject matter expertise to the continuous improvement of curricula, courseware, and training processes.
- Manage schedules effectively.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of approved qualifications and experience requirements for an Air Traffic Service Instructor prior to commencing instruction.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of ICAO or Transport Canada Air Traffic Control regulations.
- Minimum three years of operational experience in an Air Traffic Services role.
- Passion for training and developing talent.

- Fluency in English and/or French (instruction will be delivered in either language based on instructor proficiency).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Flight Service Specialist, Tower Controller, or Instrument Flight Rules Controller.
- Prior instructional experience.
- Possession of an existing instructor qualification issued by a regulatory authority.
