Job Overview: Flight Simulator Instructor

The Flight Simulator Instructor plays a pivotal role in strengthening safety and mission readiness by providing expert training to military aviators. This position involves delivering high-quality simulator and ground-based instruction in accordance with approved training programmes, regulatory standards, and organizational policies. The successful candidate will leverage cutting-edge technology to prepare pilots for critical missions, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and accurate documentation of all training activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct simulator instruction and training sessions aligned with approved lesson plans and authority-certified programmes.
  • Maintain all necessary personal licences, ratings, instructor privileges, and medical fitness requirements.
  • Verify the validity of authority approvals prior to executing any training exercises.
  • Adhere strictly to operational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review client Training and Checking Authorization forms to ensure training accuracy.
  • Perform comprehensive pre- and post-session briefings and de-briefings to enhance training outcomes.
  • Identify, record, and discuss deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs) during trainee de-briefings.
  • Deliver simulator instruction for one or multiple aircraft types, including extended simulator seating sessions of four or more hours.
  • Facilitate classroom-based instruction (e.g., Simfinity, CBT, IPT, or stand-up lectures), requiring extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Assist in the development, certification, and maintenance of training curricula and instructional devices, including simulators, FTDs, and FMS aids.
  • Attain FAA and/or EASA ground school and simulator instructor designation within 12 months.
  • Obtain necessary qualifications to perform examiner duties for the assigned aircraft fleet.
  • Perform Right Seat Support duties as required.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including maintenance of training records, tracking qualifications, and recommending remedial training.
  • Prepare and inspect classroom environments and training facilities.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Valid pilot licences, ratings, and instructor privileges relevant to the assigned aircraft and programme.
  • Eligibility to maintain all required authority approvals (e.g., FAA, EASA) for training delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with all regulatory and organizational training standards.
  • Proven effectiveness in delivering professional simulator and classroom instruction.
  • Physical capacity to sit for extended periods (four or more hours) during simulator operations.
  • Physical capacity to stand and/or sit for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours) during classroom delivery.
  • Strong observational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately identify and provide constructive feedback regarding training deviations.
