Role Overview and Training Centre Expansion

The organization invites applications for a dedicated, full-time Synthetic Flight & Ground School Instructor to join its global Business Aviation Training team. This pivotal role is based at the newly opened, state-of-the-art Business Aviation Training Centre in Vienna (Schwechat), Austria, representing a unique opportunity to be part of the initial operational team.

This 8,000-square-metre facility is purpose-built to deliver the most advanced pilot training experience in Central Europe. The centre initially operates five state-of-the-art Full Flight Simulators (FFS), including the G550, PH100/300, Global 7500, and a Global 6000 Vision FFS, catering to leading business jet manufacturers. The facility is designed for expansion, with capacity for up to nine FFS units.

The successful candidate will contribute to making world-class Business Pilot Training more accessible across Central Europe.

Key Responsibilities and Role Expectations

The Synthetic Flight & Ground School Instructor (PC-24 platform) is sought to transform existing aviation experience into expert instruction. The role involves leading clients through comprehensive training programs, minimizing the requirement for work-related travel.

Instructors will work closely with client partners, providing high-calibre Synthetic Flight instruction. The position also requires classroom-based instruction and meticulous attention to detail in administrative tasks.

Primary Duties include:

  • Assuring the quality delivery of client training according to qualification standards, encompassing classroom systems, performance ground school, and in-simulator pilot training.
  • Monitoring and assuring strict compliance with all regulatory authorizations and qualifications.
  • Conducting quality pre-flight and post-flight briefings.
  • Striving to increase personal Instructor qualifications, as dictated by the program requirements.
  • Suggesting enhancements to curriculum and courseware materials to optimize the clients’ training experience.
  • Assuring all paperwork and electronic records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Delivering portions of initial and recurrent ground school programs.
  • Providing single client seat support on occasions, as required.
  • Assisting the Lead Instructor with duties when requested, and executing any other duties as assigned by the Training Manager.

Candidate Profile and Required Qualifications

Ideal Professional Pilot Profile

The organization seeks aviation professionals who possess high-performance aircraft experience coupled with instructional proficiency. The ideal candidate excels in mentoring and developing industry colleagues and has prior experience as a Synthetic Flight Instructor.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid EASA license.
  • A minimum of 500 single pilot hours is required.
  • Must read, speak, and converse in English at a high professional level.
  • Must exhibit a keen eye for detail in training delivery, maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with company policy and requirements.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including competence in Microsoft Office suite and internet-based programs.
  • Flexibility to commit to a full-time, permanent work pattern.
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to the Training Centre in Schwechat.
  • The successful candidate must be prepared to spend a period of time outside of Austria to undertake initial type and SFI ratings training.

Desirable Attributes

  • Previous instructional experience (CFI, SFI, or SFE) is ideal, although not strictly required.
  • The right to live and work in Austria is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer/client orientation.
  • Proven ability to tailor training sessions effectively to the needs of a diverse customer base.
  • Demonstrated ability to focus and thrive within a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
  • A proactive attitude that continuously drives toward process improvement and client satisfaction.
