Role Overview

CAE is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global 6500 Instructor Pilot to join its esteemed team in Las Vegas. This pivotal role transcends traditional training, focusing on the cultivation of confidence, precision, and mastery in every pilot. The Instructor Pilot inspires trust and ensures trainees are fully prepared for critical moments, whether leading advanced simulator sessions or conducting thorough pre-flight briefings. This position is ideal for experienced Global 6500 rated or experienced pilots looking to transition from the cockpit into a dynamic and rewarding instructional environment, contributing to the pursuit of aviation excellence.

After approximately 1.5 years of service, and based on business needs, designated Instructor Pilots are expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman, further expanding their impact and expertise within CAE.

Key Responsibilities

The Instructor Pilot is responsible for the comprehensive delivery of flight training, both in state-of-the-art flight simulators and through engaging ground school sessions. All training must adhere strictly to appropriate regulatory agency standards, CAE-approved curriculum, and specific customer requirements. Key duties include:

  • Providing expert simulator, flight, or classroom instruction across assigned aircraft types for the issuance of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
  • Conducting thorough and professional pre and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE's high standards.
  • Acting as a dedicated Subject Matter Expert (SME), guiding clients through their training programs with in-depth knowledge and practical insight.
  • Performing essential administrative duties, including the accurate completion of training records, recommending remedial training when necessary, and diligently tracking individual instructional qualifications and activity.
  • Contributing as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the development of curricula and courseware when required, enhancing CAE's training offerings.

Required Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or state-issued equivalent is required; an Associate or college degree is preferred.
  • Possession of, or having previously held, a professional pilot's license.
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of job-relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer operations, including Microsoft Office suite and other internet-based programs.
  • Ability to participate in CAE’s DOT Anti-Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Proven experience demonstrating a strong customer service orientation in work assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in teaching or training others is highly advantageous.
  • An existing instructor qualification or a current type rating, preferably on the Global 6500.
  • Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, complemented by a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot in Command (PIC) type rating.
  • FAR Part 135 experience and a total flight time of 3,000 hours or more.

Physical Requirements

The role necessitates specific physical abilities to effectively perform duties, including:

  • Manual dexterity for tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
  • The ability to sit in a confined space for 4-6 hours at a time with limited breaks.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours, with limited breaks.
  • The capacity to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn as required.

Training for these roles may involve international travel and extended stays. Relocation assistance will be provided if local candidates are not found.
