Job Description:
The Gulfstream 550 Instructor Pilot is responsible for delivering flight training in a flight simulator and ground school, adhering to regulatory agency requirements, CAE approved curriculum, and customer needs. This role functions as a subject matter expert (SME), guiding clients through their training. After 1.5+ years, depending on business needs, qualified instructors are expected to become Training Center Evaluators (TCEs) and customer contract check airmen.
Responsibilities:
- Provide simulator/flight or classroom instruction on assigned aircraft types for license issuance, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
- Conduct thorough and professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings according to CAE standards.
- Fulfill administrative duties such as completing training records, recommending remedial training when necessary, tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity, etc.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in curriculum and courseware development when required.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or college degree preferred; High School diploma or state-issued equivalent required.
- 2-5 years of relevant job experience.
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service.
- Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
- Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs.
- Must be able to participate in CAE's DOT Anti-Drug & Alcohol testing program.
- Existing instructor qualification or type rating preferred.
- Holds or has held a professional pilot's license.
- Preferred: FAR Part 135 experience, 3,000 hours of total flight time.
- Preferred: Possess an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and a minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
Internal Candidates:
Ideal internal candidates are currently in good standing and TCE qualified on the G450/550 or an existing TCE on another platform. CAE IPs with interest should apply for further consideration and discussion.
Training and Relocation:
- Training for this role may involve international travel and extended stays.
- Relocation assistance will be provided if local candidates are not found.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical dexterity required for tasks demanding hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Ability to sit in a confined space for 4-6 hours at a time with limited breaks.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 10 hours) with limited breaks.
- Ability to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn.
